School Project Adviser
Location: Ringwood Library
Salary: From £24,350 (pro-rata)
Contract: Permanent/Part-time 30 hours per week
Closing Date: 30th June 2025
The Role
The project aims to tackle child poverty; working with a small number of schools within the Ringwood and Fordingbridge area, we aim to use effective partnerships to deliver a range of advice to parents and carers of pupils at those schools. We hope that by delivering comprehensive and high-quality advice and support to households with school age children, we will help to make them more financially secure and resilient.
The Schools Project Adviser will provide advice and support to families who are experiencing profound difficulties in managing problems, including debt and benefit issues, and who may face additional problems such as the threat of homelessness. To access this service the family must have at least one child attending one of the participating schools in the Ringwood and Fordingbridge area. This support may be intensive. The Schools Project Adviser will act as a bridge between clients, the Citizens Advice team and third-party organisations to aid engagement in the processes associated with addressing their issues. This may involve liaison with key local agencies (Food Banks, New Forest District Council, Housing Associations, Schools etc.) as well as providing practical support such as accompanying clients to meetings, help with paperwork and associated administrative tasks.
Please note that this role is term-time only plus three weeks (42 weeks total per year). The stated salary is the full time equivalent, this will be pro-rated.

Debt Adviser
Location: One of our New Forest offices
Salary: £24,150, rising to £25,200 once qualified (pro rata)
Contract: Permanent/Part-time – 21 hours per week
Closing Date: Monday 7th July
The Role
The Debt Adviser will provide information and advice to people who are experiencing profound difficulties in managing financial problems; sometimes more in-depth casework will be required. The advice will primarily be given by telephone appointments, however advice can also be given face-to-face and by email.
The role is offered on a permanent basis, however funding is currently only guaranteed until the end of March 2026.
The role is funded by MaPS, which is an arm’s-length body sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions. MaPS shares Citizens Advice’s commitment to ensuring that people throughout the UK have guidance and access to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime. Their mission is to help people – particularly those most in need – to improve their financial wellbeing and build a better, more confident future. Working collaboratively across the UK, we make sure people can access high-quality money guidance and debt advice, how and when they need it.
