Citizens Advice New Forest is a local independent charity providing free and confidential advice to help people solve the difficulties they face. Our service has never been more in need so we are seeking committed and dedicated individuals who can join our team.

Debt Team Leader

Hours: 30 – 37.5 hours a week
Pay: £27,000 – £28,000
Location: Hybrid, 1 – 2 days per week at a CA office in the New Forest and Southampton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Debt Advice Team Leader to join the Citizens Advice New Forest team. This role will provide line management to two debt teams from Citizens Advice New Forest and one debt team from Citizens Advice Southampton and will be responsible for ensuring that the projects are meeting their objectives and outcomes. We are looking for an individual that can oversee all aspects of debt project delivery including
technical supervision and adherence to quality standards, monitoring of project delivery and outcomes, and all aspects of leadership of the teams including motivation and development of the team members.


We are looking for candidates who are:

  • From an advice background, with appropriate debt-advice accreditation or the willingness to train to become accredited.
  • A great communicator, motivator and team player; someone who can interact at all levels of Citizens Advice.
  • Someone with an eye for detail, who is able to take a leadership role and is comfortable with responsibility.
  • Passionate about helping individuals needing support to move on with their life.

As a successful candidate you will be able to work a hybrid model of work, although attendance at a Citizens Advice office is expected for a minimum of 1-2 days per week.

This role can be either full time or part time, however a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week is required.

Debt Team Administrator

Hours: Part time 18 hours
Pay: £13,440 (£24,000 FTE)
Location: Totton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Debt Team Administrator to join the Citizens Advice New Forest team. This role will support all aspects of two funded debt projects run by Citizens Advice New Forest, working with both the Debt Advisers and the Debt Advice Team Leader to ensure that clients receive an efficient and compliant journey. The Debt Team Administrator will undertake administrative tasks on behalf of the Debt Advisers, as well as liaising directly with clients.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Strong administration skills, an eye for detail and a conscientious outlook.
  • A great communicator and team player; someone who can interact with people from all backgrounds.
  • Preferably from an advice background, however full training will be given.
  • Passionate about helping individuals needing support to move on with their life.

As a successful candidate you will be expected to work in Citizens Advice New Forest office location, however some element of homeworking can be discussed. This role is offered on a part time basis, for 21 hours per week. Working pattern can be discussed.

Foodbank Support Worker – Ringwood & Fordingbridge

Hours: Part time 12 hours
Pay: £8,064 (£25,200 pro rata)
Location: Ringwood & Fordingbridge

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Foodbank Support Worker to join the Citizens Advice New Forest team. The role will provide advice and support to Ringwood and Fordingbridge foodbank users who are experiencing profound difficulties in managing financial problems including debt and benefit issues, and who may face additional problems such as the threat of homelessness. The Foodbank Support Worker will act as a bridge between clients and the Citizens Advice team to aid engagement in the processes associated with addressing their issues.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Passionate about helping vulnerable people living on low incomes.
  • A good listener, able to understand an individual’s needs and come up with solutions that will help them get to grips with their finances.
  • A great communicator, full of empathy and able to work with people struggling with personal issues.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude.

The role is part time, 12 hours per week, with funding for the project agreed until June 2025.
